You cough and are winded going up the stairs, cough in the morning to get going, are afraid you will gain weight and figure it is easier just to do nothing. That is far from the truth. Using self hypnosis to stop the bad smoking habit, you can be successful without the crabbiness, without eating too much, without withdrawal, and without all the negative experiences.

Self hypnosis helps you train your mind to do what is needed by accessing your subconscious. Your subconscious is in control of your emotions and behaviors and can control your willpower. How many times have you said you just don’t have the willpower to quit or heard someone else say they have no willpower.

If you don’t get your subconscious involved in the agenda to quit smoking, you have no chance even though your conscious mind has made the decision to quit. Self hypnosis helps to align the two so your subconscious and your conscious agree. You can then control your desire because the motivation is controlled by your subconscious.  

In order to achieve self hypnosis to quit smoking you must be able to achieve a complete state of relaxation. To do this you must be in a completely quite space that has no distractions and be able to relax on a daily basis. You then need to decide exactly what your goal is and create positive relaxation self hypnosis scripts that you repeat during the relaxed state. You must repeat them over and over. There are a few things to know about creating the scripts. First, always speak in the first person, or “I” and always in the present or “now”. Use things such as “I am in control, and will be smoke free for the rest of my life” or, “I am happy that I have made the decision to be smoke-free and am happy with it”. Any such phrases that are positive and in first person will help you achieve your goal to stop smoking through self hypnosis.

Many studies have shown that self hypnosis is one of the most successful ways to stop smoking and your sub-conscious mind will take control and you will soon be able to live a healthy and smoke-free life.

what’s the best free stop smoking hypnosis download site?

I found a free download website ([email protected]) who haven’t charged me to download a stop smoking hypnosis session but the only way i can download it is to click on a link they sent me in an email and I am worried incase it is harmful to my computer. Does anyone know the safest site or any suggestions

I can help you a bit, but not in the way you expect. I have tried hypnotherapy with 3 different Hypnotherapists. They cover a number of sessions … about 7 I think. In all cases smoking was involved, and the last time, weight loss was a major focus too. My experiences and observations were:

1. The first 2 were totally useless. Perhaps I was not receptive, or the weather was wrong, or the person a crook, who knows? Whatever the reason was, it did not work, and both these two examples were in beautiful, peaceful surroundings (aimed to put one at ease). All 3 people I have tried had a number of accreditation’s at state and national levels.

2. The last time was a blinding success. The lady doing it was a registered Psychologist, with formal learning in hypnotherapy. I had been seeing her over other things so felt very at ease with this. She actually sprung it on me by surprise – I was unaware she did it. So it was a pleasure to try – anything which helps me has got to be good (within reason).

3. Based on the two answers above, I am convinced you cannot be hypnotised over a broadband link or very effectively by using a CD/tape. I asked her about this actually, and she wistfully said words to the effect she wished she could, so she could help others elsewhere. It has been tried and found wanting, by researchers so she said. I have heard of people though (funnily, never met one) who say th tapes helped them. If so, great. But my experience has never involved them so I am quite unqualified to comment.

4. An important part of the treatment is total relaxation. Now, it is pretty easy to completely relax your body – though you usually have to be shown for the first time – and I then do it my way anyhow, to achieve the same effect. But, relaxing the mind is a whole different issue. I used to attend meditation groups, and learned this way. It took me personally a fair bit of practice, butu this is fairly normal; nobody can do it fully first time supposedly. The key issue was that when we set up the first session (the 3rd, 83yo lady from above), she told me to relax my mind and body. She waited a while before asking if my mind was ready, and when it was, I simply grunted and she started.

5. What your practitioner does is very much focused on you, your personality, your personal circumstances, etc. I can imagine a generic ‘one-tape-fixes-all’ for smoking, yet in reality a live person that you pay will know something about you which possibly contributes to your habit – such as everyone around you smoking, unusual stress or whatever. This is woven into the spoken words.

6. In retrospect, I realise my state of relaxation was much better than the previous 2 times with other people (who I actually don’t think were crooks, and were quite genuine). The reason the final attempts worked so well was that at the beginning, I spent some effort relaxing (yeah, that sounds wrong, but you get the drift).

I am not into fads, new age hocus-pocus, Atlantis, crystal healing, Area 51, JFK still alive, 9/11 done by the US govt, and all that conspiracy nonsense. I am actually a skeptic. However there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that properly conducted, hypnotherapy usually works – there can be bad days that no hypnotherapist in the world could get through to you. No idea why, it is simply something to bear in mind. The key word earlier, is ‘properly’ and this means sitting down with an accredited Psychologist or Hypnotherapist, do whatever yapping they want (and tell the truth, however ugly, it helps them help you – and they are bound as any doctor by doctor-patient privilege). Then, start the session – no need for those details here.

I did 3 sessions a week apart with this last lady, and almost stopped smoking (except one with morning coffee and one after dinner), and lost just over 4kg (8.8lbs). So, I deem those 3 sessions to be a success as th 2 fags/day can easily be stopped if I wanted to. Unfortunately, based on what this lady told me (and in my eyes, she has the right to hold strong opinions on her fields of knowledge), and she has been practicing and updating her skills for nearly 60 years now – it simply cannot work over a medium such as the internet. I know she quoted data about it, so you can probably locate that too.

Sorry, I wish it WOULD work as I think I would have tried it. Yet considering what I said above, even if it could work online, it cannot be tailored to you.

Finally, if you are in Sydney, I can give you her email address so you might consider, after talking with her, whether you want to try a session – remember, you get what you pay for (and in her case it is Medicare deductible 100%).

For many people trying to stop smoking hypnosis may be the answer to modifying their behavior and putting and end to their cigarette habit. There may be a lot of misunderstanding about the use of hypnosis by people trying to stop smoking as they relate the effort to their own perceptions about this clinically proven method. Too many believe everything they see on television or in the movies and are hesitant to use stop smoking hypnosis for fear of the hypnotists planting unwanted suggestions in their subconscious.

While hypnosis has been shown to turn people into clucking chickens or to exhibit other mundane behaviors, the reality is that stop smoking hypnosis merely plants a suggestion into a person’s mind that makes them realize that smoking is something they can live without. The theory behind stop smoking hypnosis is to have the person’s mind relaxed enough to accept the suggestion that the addiction they feel towards nicotine is not as strong as their desire to quit.

Many of the stop smoking hypnosis clinics are performed in a group setting, the success rate is considerably higher when a person undergoes this treatment on a personal level. Mass hypnosis is usually conducted in large groups and some critics claim that the success rate of less than 50 percent is due to the setting and not the therapy.

Continued Success May Rely On Continued Treatment

Many companies and individuals offering stop smoking hypnosis clinics, are also offering self-hypnosis techniques to help the individual retain the stop smoking suggestion planted during the hypnosis session. It has been shown in a variety of scenarios that it can take a minimum of 21 days before a behavior becomes a habit and it can also take that long for a behavior to be changed before eliminating the habit.

That at least is the theory behind the need for self-hypnosis to be used following a stop smoking hypnosis session. Since less than half of the people attending a stop smoking hypnosis session are successful in giving up the habit, those that also use self-hypnosis after the session are more likely to quit smoking for good.

The spark that makes people want to quit smoking is going to be different for everyone and trying to plant that thought into the minds of all those attending a stop smoking hypnosis session can be difficult. This is the main thought behind the need for follow-up sessions using self-hypnosis to help more people give up the smoking addiction.
